Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
As a Solution-Focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Eric Buck Psychotherapy Associates provides a wide range of psychotherapy and consultation services in the Sacramento Valley with offices in Davis and Sacramento. For the last 19 years I have been providing psychotherapy services to adults, couples, and adolescents. Family Therapy services, and Psychoeducational Programs for individuals and organizations that focus on Anger Management and Interpersonal Communication Skills are also available.
By creating a warm, open, safe, and confidential environment, my practice is designed to help you have the right beginning so that you can meet your goals. Often patients are not sure what they want or what is possible in psychotherapy. I work primarily with people who desire to get to the core of their problems and balancing that with a strengths-based -Empathic approach.
Most of my patients come to me wanting more than just temporary symptomatic change. My patients have told me that they appreciate my treatment of the whole person and to be sure I have a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach that incorporates mindfulness, many perspectives, cultural differences, and sexual orientations.
My specialty is contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. These are more long-term, intensive, deep, structure-enhancing approaches. I also integrate CBT and DBT influenced methods, Mentalization Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques that can enhance treatment and can also work with short-term approaches like Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy. My couples work is influenced by the research and techniques of John Gottman.
While the experience of insight is important, emotion regulation and distress tolerence learned through professional relational experiences with a seasoned therapist and/or skills training are also key. Some peope need more safety and grounding before uncovering and reclaiming parts of themselves.
Others need a place and a structure that will support them to break through their defensive coping barriers or resolve and work through distraction behaviors, addiction behaviors, and self-destructive patterns that emerge when in uncomfortable self-states or relationships.
The interpersonal relational part of the therapy can be the beginning of new relationship patterns that can pave the way to more trust and happiness or healthy boundries and mature relationships.
